Spelling Bee Application
Spelling Bee Competition Rules and Regulations
- Spelling Bee competition is open for students from grade 1 to Grade 8.
- All contestant must not have finished 8th grade at the time of their individual school finals.
- The pronouncer announces the word to be spelled. Slowly and clearly, without distorting the normal pronunciation of word.
- The speller listens carefully to the pronouncer and asks for the to be repeated, defined or used in a sentence if necessary.
- When the speller is sure he/she understands the word, he/she pronounces it, spells it and then says the word again. He/she must say it loudly enough for the judge to hear it.
- The pronouncer determines whether or not the word was spelled correctly.
- If the correct spelling was given, the speller remains in the game.
- If the spelling was incorrect, that speller is eliminated from the game. The pronouncer gives the correct spelling of the word. Then the pronouncer reads a new word to the next student.
- The winner is the student who can spell all words he/she is given correctly in the final rounds, he/she will be asked to spell new words from the dictionary.
- The students are divided according to their grades / age / school (Dep).
- All students participating will be given 20 seconds to spell one word.
- The students who pass the school round will be given 20 seconds to spell one word.
- All participants must wear a school uniform.
- Training classes will be held for each competition in UCMAS branches.
- In case of retreating from the competition, the amount paid will not be refunded.
