Spelling Bee Competition Rules and Regulations

1. Purpose

The Written Spelling Bee Competition aims to:

• Promote spelling proficiency and vocabulary development.
• Encourage healthy and constructive academic competition.
• Foster confidence, concentration, and accuracy in written communication.
• Encourage students to develop their language skills and prepare for academic competitions.

   2.Eligibility

The competition is open to students within the designated grade levels and age groups announced by the organizers.

• Category A: Grade 1 to Grade 4 — 7 to 10 years
• Category B: Grade 5 to Grade 8 — 11 to 13 years

• Participants must be officially registered before the announced registration deadline.
• Each participant may compete only once in the category for which they are registered.
• Participants may not change their registered category unless approved by the organizers.

3. Competition Format

• The competition will be conducted in written form.
• Participants will receive a question paper containing a list of words to be spelled.
• Words may increase in difficulty as the competition progresses.
• The winner is the participant who successfully spells all the words assigned to them correctly, in accordance with the official scoring rules of the competition.

4. Instructions to Participants
   

• Words will be read aloud clearly by the invigilator.
• Each word will be pronounced clearly and, where applicable, accompanied by its definition and an example.
• Participants must write the correct spelling in the designated space.
• Only one spelling attempt per word is permitted.
• Participants must follow all instructions given by the invigilators and organizers.

5. Time Regulations
   

• Participants must strictly adhere to the allocated time.
• No additional time will be granted
• Any answer submitted after the allocated time has ended will not be counted.

6. Conduct and Discipline
   

• Participants must remain silent and work independently throughout the competition.
• Cheating, copying, signaling, communicating with other participants, or attempting to obtain an unfair advantage is strictly prohibited.
• The use of any unauthorized materials or devices is prohibited.
• Any violation of the competition rules may result in immediate disqualification.
• All instructions given by invigilators and organizers must be followed at all times.

7. Awards and Certificates

• Winners and participants, according to the competition categories and awards structure, will receive certificates and medals in recognition of their participation and achievement.
• The Academy reserves the right to determine the type of prize awarded to the Champion as it deems appropriate.
• Participants and guardians may not object to the type of prize determined by the Academy.

No appeals will be accepted against a disqualification resulting from misconduct or violation of the competition rules.

10. Finality of Results

• The competition results are final and conclusive and are subject to the rules and regulations of the organizing body and the decisions of the judging committee.
• articipants may not challenge the judging committee, the pronunciation of words, or the words selected for the final rounds, provided that the selection follows the approved competition procedures and word lists provided for each participant.
• Any inappropriate objection or misconduct toward the judging committee or organizers may result in the participant’s disqualification.
• The Academy shall not be held responsible for any disqualification resulting from a participant’s violation of the competition rules.

11. Re-Correction and Appeals

• It is strictly prohibited to request the re-correction, re-marking, or re-evaluation of the test after the results have been finalized by the judging committee.
• By participating, all contestants and guardians agree to abide by these rules, regulations, and policies.

The decision of the judging committee regarding the final result shall be considered final.

12. Orientation and Training

• All participants should attend the designated orientation and training session before the National Competition.
• Optional online training sessions will also be available to all participants who wish to further prepare for the competition.
• The training sessions are intended to familiarize participants with the competition format, rules, procedures, and answering techniques.

13. Withdrawal and Refund Policy

• In case of withdrawal from the competition, the amount paid will not be refundable after the applicable refund period.
• Refund requests may be submitted within 14 days from the date of completing the registration form, in accordance with the Academy’s approved refund policy.
• After the 14-day period, participants will not be entitled to request a refund.

Participation in the competition constitutes full acceptance of these Rules & Regulations.
